Nitrous oxide
Mild relaxation. Fully conscious. Effects dissipate within minutes.
Oral sedation
Deeper relaxation. Reduced awareness of time passing. Requires a driver but no IV.
IV conscious sedation
Controlled, adjustable sedation. Little to no memory of the procedure. Supervised recovery.
